HYROX Warsaw 2026
Warsaw hosts HYROX for four days from April 16-19, 2026. Poland has one of the fastest-growing HYROX communities in Europe, with the sport taking off strongly in cities like Katowice, Gdansk, Poznan and the capital. Warsaw, as Poland's largest city and economic hub, is the natural flagship event on the Polish calendar.
Warsaw in mid-April offers spring conditions with temperatures of 10-15°C and a city fully emerged from winter. The Polish capital has undergone remarkable regeneration over the past 15 years and is a genuinely exciting destination, with excellent food, nightlife and culture at prices well below Western European cities.

Getting There
By Air
- Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) -- Poland's main international airport, 10 km southwest of the centre. Served by LOT, Ryanair, Wizz Air, easyJet, Lufthansa, KLM, Air France and many others. Direct routes from London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Paris, Vienna, Istanbul and across Europe
- Bus 175 runs from the airport to Warsaw Centralna and Nowy Swiat in about 30-40 minutes. Tickets are available on the bus or via the app
- Metro line M1 connects the nearby Rakowiec area to the city centre, but requires a bus link from the terminal itself
- Taxis from WAW to the centre cost approximately 40-60 PLN (€9-14). Use official taxis at the metered rank or the Bolt/Uber app to avoid overcharging
- Warsaw Modlin Airport (WMI) -- 35 km north, used by Ryanair for some routes. Shuttle buses run to Warsaw Centrum in about 60-75 minutes
By Train
- Warsaw Centralna -- Poland's main rail hub. EC (EuroCity) trains run to Berlin (~6h), Prague (~8h), Vienna (~8h) and Vilnius (~3.5h). PKP Intercity high-speed Pendolino services cover Gdansk (under 3h), Krakow (2.5h), Poznan (2.5h) and Katowice (2.5h)
- The Rail Baltica project will eventually connect Warsaw to Tallinn via Lithuania and Latvia, but this is not yet complete
- From Warsaw Centralna, metro line M1 and M2 plus bus and tram serve all parts of the city
By Public Transport
- Warsaw has two metro lines: M1 (north-south, blue) and M2 (east-west, red). They intersect at Swietokrzyska
- ZTM Warsaw app or the jakdojade.pl website cover all bus, tram and metro services
- Trams cover much of the city centre and outer residential areas
- Nextbike city bikes are available across central Warsaw for short-distance journeys
- If the venue is Ptak Expo (outside the city), dedicated shuttle buses from central Warsaw will be provided on event days
By Car
- Warsaw sits on the A1 (north-south) and A2 (east-west, from Berlin) motorway network. Driving from Berlin, Prague or Gdansk is straightforward
- Parking in central Warsaw is charged and increasingly restricted. The Ptak Expo venue has large free parking areas
- Road quality in Poland has improved dramatically. The A2 from Berlin is a fast motorway route across the border
Where to Stay
Warsaw offers excellent value accommodation by Western European standards. Mid-range hotels that would cost €200+ per night in London or Amsterdam are available for €60-100 in Warsaw.
- City centre (Srodmiescie, Nowy Swiat area) -- the most connected and lively area. Walking distance from Warsaw Centralna. Hotels include Hilton, Marriott, Intercontinental and numerous local boutique options. Very good value compared to Western Europe
- Mokotow / Ochota -- south-central residential areas with solid mid-range hotel options. Good metro access. A quieter base than the centre
- Praga (east bank) -- Warsaw's up-and-coming hip neighbourhood across the Vistula. Cheaper accommodation and excellent restaurant/bar access. Metro line M2 connects to the centre in minutes
- Budget travellers will find Warsaw hostel prices among the most competitive in Europe
Tip: Poland's accommodation is priced in PLN, not EUR. Currency fluctuations can affect your total cost. Use a no-foreign-transaction-fee bank card to avoid conversion charges on every purchase.
Training in Warsaw
Warsaw's fitness scene has grown significantly in the past decade. CrossFit affiliates, functional training studios and commercial gyms are well-distributed across the city.
- CrossFit Warsaw and several affiliated boxes (including CF Praga, CF Mokotow, CF Ursynow) offer drop-in sessions. Equipment quality is generally high with SkiErgs and rowing machines in most boxes
- McFIT and Fitness World -- the largest budget chains in Warsaw with multiple locations. Adequate cardio equipment but limited functional training setups at most branches
- WorldClass and FitFabric -- premium gym chains with well-equipped functional training areas. Day-use passes available
- Several boutique studios in Mokotow, Zoliborz and Praga have built proper functional training floors with sleds and ski ergs
Running Routes
- Vistula Riverbank (Bulwary Wiślane) -- one of Warsaw's best and most popular running routes. A flat, broad promenade running north-south along the Vistula's left (west) bank. Ideal for longer tempo efforts. Accessible from central Warsaw
- Lazienki Park -- Warsaw's main royal park in the Ujazdow area. Flat gravel paths, a lake and extensive tree-lined routes. Popular with runners at all times of day
- Pole Mokotowskie (Mokotow Fields) -- a large open parkland in the south-central area. Good for interval sessions on the open grass areas
- Kampinos National Forest -- northwest of the city, accessible by bus. Exceptional trail running in forested terrain for those wanting a break from urban routes
